The University of Kansas School of Architecture and Design offers a five-year, first-professional, Master of Architecture degree, as well as several accelerated Master of Architecture degree paths. Designbuild education features prominently in these programs, with ARCH 509 Designbuild Studio being a core design studio within the required studio sequence and Studio 804 being a capstone experience for students who choose to pursue advanced designbuild studies.

The Designbuild Graduate Certificate program aims to provide students with hands-on, material-based, experiential learning opportunities, anchored by the internationally-acclaimed and award-winning designbuild studios at KU. This certificate is open to students in architecture, interior architecture, design, architectural engineering, and other allied disciplines. The certificate is available as a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) opportunity for outside professionals as well.

The Designbuild Graduate Certificate can be obtained by completing ARCH 803 Design-Build and Materiality I and ARCH 804 Design-Build and Materiality II. See the Designbuild certificate overview or contact Chad Kraus, Associate Professor of Architecture, ckraus@ku.edu, for more information.
